Austin City Limits
Festival Wear: Inspired by Texas Roots
We, the Birds, are gearing up to take on Austin City Limits this weekend. Its our first time going to ACL (even though we've been living in Texas for several years now...LONG overdue). Anyway, while brainstorming about our ACL outfits (yes, we do that), we decided that we wanted to take a step back from the go-to "boho" festival cliche. Don't get us wrong, we love a good "boho" moment here and there, but it dawned on us that there are TONS of other cool ways to dress for a music festival (sans flash tattoos). So... we planned our outfits by looking at the genres of musical acts that we are going to experience at ACL. We decided that there are 3 overarching genres: EDM, Alt Rock, and Hip-Hop (3 genres, 3 days — PERFECT). As always, we tried to preserve the authenticity of our own individual styles while channeling these fun outfit themes. Follow along all week as we breakdown these festival stylez.
We're starting this series with our take on #texasstyle! Don't have cowboy boots? Neither do we.. but we do have DENIM... lots of denim! Denim-on-denim is a "cool girl" way to effortlessly incorporate elements of the "cowgirl" and pair them with modern fashion staples (like our suede high neck bodysuits and leather accessories).
